One of the lowest points on earth, Danakil depression (130 meters below sea level) to see the wonderful and colourful formation of sulphur and phosphorus, visit the salt lake of Asale and discover how people get plate of salt in a traditional way. 

Visit Afar Triangle; Itinerary 01

Day 1: Addis-Semera-Erta’ale

Fly from Addis to Semera then; drive to the village to arrange Camels to transport luggage, cooking and camping gear, and around the sunset start hiking to the active volcanic eruption of Erta’ale, which takes about an hour and spend the rest of the night at the rim. O/N at Camping

Day 2: Erta’ale–Ahmed Ela

After an early breakfast, drive to Ahmed Ela visiting the nomadic people of Afar, at Ahmed Ela, visit the Salt Lake of Asal, used by the nomadic people of Afar, and the interesting Camel Caravans with beautiful sunset, which transport bars of salt to the Highlands of Ethiopia.    O/N at Camping

Day 3: Ahmed Ela–Dallol-Semera

In the morning, drive to one of the lowest points on earth, Dallol (130 meters below sea level) to see the wonderful and colorful formation of sulfur and phosphorus. Moreover, you will visit how the nomadic people of Afar get salt in traditional ways; and then, you will drive back to Semera. O/N at Hotel

Day 4: Semera-Addis Ababa

fly from Semera to Addis and you will have a half day city tour of Addis including the National Museum of Ethiopia where there is the famous fossil of Lucy, the holy trinity cathedral church and Merkato, one of the biggest open-air markets in Africa ….. End of the tour…..

Dallol Depression; Itinerary 02

Day 1: Addis AbabaKombolcha

Drive from Addis to Kombolcha and on the way, visit the local markets and the famous tunnel of Tarma Ber. O/N at Hotel

Day 2: Kombolcha-Mile-Semera

After breakfast, drive to Semera visiting the colourful market of Bati and crossing breathtaking landscapes. O/N at Hotel

Day 3: SemeraAfdera-Ertale

After breakfast, drive to Afdera and then to Ertale. O/N at Camping  

Day 4: ErtaleAbalaHamedela 

After leaving Ertale, we’ll drive to Hamedela through Abala and Berhale, when we arrive at Hamedela, we will drive to see the sun set from Lake Asal. Dinner & overnight at camping in Hamedela

Day 5: Hamedela–Dallol 

Early in the morning, drive to visit the amazing color formation area of Dallol; the salt bar mine and camel caravans. After visiting Dallol Depression, drive back to Semera. O/N at Hotel

Day 6: Semera-Awash National Park

After breakfast, drive through the region of Afar people and see their huts construction. O/N at Awash falls lodge in the park.

Day 6: Semera-Awash National Park

In the morning after breakfast, we will do sight seeing of Awash National Park, and then drive back to Addis.
