Mountains’ Trekking
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival you will be welcomed by your guide and drive about 15 minutes to your hotel. Overnight at Jupiter Hotel
Day 2: Sanka Ber (3,200m)
Fly from Addis to Gondar and drive 136 km north to Sanka Ber via Debark, the headquarters of Simien Mountains National Park. Around Sankaber, make short walks to visit the incredible Simien Mountains and one of the endemic mammals of Ethiopia. Overnight: First class camping gear with private cook and necessary camping gears
Day 3: Sankaber – Geech (3,550m)
Trekking time: 5 – 6 hrs
Activities: Trek from Sanka Ber to Geech visiting the Jinbar Falls and with stops to visit the other views of the Simien Mountains. Overnight: Camping
Day 4: Geech-Imetgogo (3,986m)
Trekking time: ~ 6 hrs
Activities: Make excursion to Imetgogo to have one of the best views of in the Simien Mountains National Park. Overnight: First class camping gear with private cook and necessary camping gears
Day 5: Geech – Chenek (3,600m)
Trekking time: ~ 7 hrs
Activities: Trek from Geech to Chenek.
Today you will have a chance to visit the other endemic not only to Ethiopia but only to the Simien Mountains – the Walia Ibex.
Overnight: First class camping gear with private cook and necessary camping gears
Day 6: Chenek – Ambiqo
Trekking time: 6 – 8 hrs
Activities: Trek from Chenek to Ambiqo climbing Buhit Mountain the 2nd highest peak next to Ras Dashen in Simien Mountain ranges.
Overnight: First class camping gear with private cook and necessary camping gears.
Day 7: Ambiqo – Ras Dashen
Trekking time: 7 – 9 hrs
Activities: Trek from Ambiqo climbs to the Ras Dashen the highest peak in Ethiopia (4620 m) and return to Ambiqo Overnight: First class camping gear with private cook and necessary camping gears
Day 8: Ambiqo – Cheneck
Trekking time: 6 – 8 hrs
Activities: Trek back to cheneck. En route you may see some Simien Fox or the Ethiopian Wolf. Overnight: First class camping gear with private cook and necessary camping gears.
Day 9: Chenek- Gondar
Driving time: 5 hours
Activities: Drive back to Gondar, and make sightseeing tour of Gondar Overnight: Goha Hotel (3* Hotel)
Day10: Gondar – Lalibela
After breakfast, transfer in to airport for your flight to Lalibela that is home to the 12th century handy carved rock churches of King Lalibela (1181 – 1221) whom the town is named after. After lunch in your hotel, visit the first group churches of Lalibela (UNESCO World Heritage Site) which are found northeast of a stream named ‘River Jordan’. Overnight: at hotel
Day 11: Lalibela
In the morning, make a mule back ride to the hill top semi monolithic church of Asheten Mariam (13th Century AD). The peak of the hill offers a wonderful viewpoint to have bird eye view of the surrounding area including the town of Lalibela. In the afternoon, visit the second and the third group of churches of Lalibela. Overnight: at hotel
Day 12: Fly Lalibela – Addis
Fly back to Addis and make sightseeing tour of Addis Ababa that includes visiting the National Archeological Museum, Merkato (the largest open air market in East Africa). We will also have time for shopping. In the evening, you will be guest of Mimosa-Ethiopia Tours at one of the famous traditional restaurants of Addis where you enjoy watching the folkloric dances of the Ethiopian people, and taste Ethiopian meals.
Trekking on Bale Mountains NP
8 days/7 nights
Day 01: city tour of Addis Ababa
arrive at Bole international Air port and transfer to Hotel then, you will have a full day city tour of Addis, visiting the National museum and Ethnographic museum of Addis Ababa, Holy Trinity Cathedral church, panoramic view of the capital from mount Entoto, where was the former capital of Emperor Menelik II and Merkato, one of the largest open air market in Africa. Over night at Jupiter Hotel
Day 02: Addis – Bale Mountains NP
Leave Addis Abeba and drive 400 km towards Goba through increasingly magnificent mountain scenery, and the way visit different small and big towns of Oromia region. O/N at Wabeshebele Hotel
Day 03: full day exploration of the northern wood land of the park ; As you ride on horses along the grass land then the wood land there are a number of animals to see – like the endemic mountain Nyala and other animals like Warthog, Reed buck, Menlik`s Bush buck and Grey Duiker. O/n at Adelay Camping.
Day 04: trek to Sodota campsite set at an altitude of 3,400m asl. The trek takes 6 to 7 hours. The landscape is covered with small shrubs which make it easy to spot such animals as the Ethiopian wolf, Abyssinian Hare and rock Hyrax. O/n Camping
Day 05: The scenic trail to Gebre Guracha (5 to 6 hour-treks) offers splendid views of the so-called “Black Lake”. Many interesting water birds can be spotted here. These trails takes you to the Sanetti Plateau endowed by several peaks, and climb to the top of domed Tulu Dimtu ( the “red mountain “ in Local language) the second highest mountain in Ethiopia an altitude of 4,377 m asl. Day 06: after breakfast, ride (2 to 3 hours) to the plane of Senetti, observing birds like: Ruget’s rail, Blue winged goose, thick billed raven, white-winged cliff chat, banded barbet, Golden Eagle, Chestnut-naped Francolins, Wattled Crane, Thekla Lark, Black Saw-wing, Moorland Chat, White-backed Black Tit, Red-Billed Chough, Black-Headed Siskin all occur. You can also see the endemic Abyssinian Wolf and the Gaint Mole rat. And then, the mini bus waits for you to ahead to Hawassa crossing the town of Shashemene where the Rastafarians live, the community who believe in the late Emperor of Abyssinia. O/N at Haile Resort
Day 07: In the morning, drive to the shore of the lake and visit the ‘Fish Market’ at Lake Awassa. Then, drive to Arbaminch and the way, you will visit the people of Alaba who are noted for their beautifully painted houses and hat. Then, climb up on the mount of Chencha to visit the Dorze village that are renowned for their huge huts and colourful cotton clothes, demonstration of Kocho from Enset (a pan cake like food from false banana tree) Over Night at Paradise Lodge
Day 08: in the morning, have a remarkable boat trip on the rift valley lake of Chamo to visit the ‘crocodile market’ where you can see display of large African Crocodiles, hippopotamus, and low land water birds. And then drive to Alaba Kulito. O/N at Sera Lodge
Day 09: after breakfast, drive back to Addis Ababa and on the way visit Tiya stele, one of the archaeological sites registered by UNESCO and looking at the Oromo People, In the evening before departure, you will have a fare well dinner party at one of the best traditional restaurants where you will see the folkloric dance of the people of Ethiopia. Then, be transferred to the airport for your departure
Dallol Depression (8 Day)
Day 1: Addis Ababa – Kombolcha: Enjoy the escarpment of the Rift Valley and visit Senbete Market, on the way to Kombolcha. Overnight at Hotel
Day 2: Kombolcha-Mekelle Dinner and overnight Axum hotel.
Day 3: Mekelle-Berhaile-Hamedela drives through Berhaile to Hamedela. Dinner and overnight camping in Hamedela
Day 4: Hamedela – Dallol – drive to see Dallol area to visit the colorful area, the salt bar mine and camel caravans. Overnight at camping or Local Hotel in Abala
Day 5: Abala- E’artale drive on lava to see the volcanic lake of E’artale. 3 – 4 hours trekking and then Overnight at Camping
Day 6: E’artale – Awash: – drive through the region of Afar people and see their huts construction, overnight Awash falls lodge in the park..
Day 7: sight seeing of Awash National Park and hot spring, overnight at Lodge
Day 8: drive back to Addis and depart

Day 03: the day is going to be dedicated to visit the walled city of Harar, O/N Hotel
Day 04: it is a long way that we are going to drive, early in the morning drive to Semera the capital of Afar Regional state, over night Hotel
Day 05: after breakfast drive to Lake Afdera to see how salt is going to be prepared and Lake Afdera O/N Camping
Day 06: after breakfast drive to Dodom (Askoma) then we are going to do Trekking for 3 hours to E’artale to see the Active Volcano of E’artale then O/N Camping
Day 07: very early in the morning, we do Trekking back to Dodom then after breakfast drive to Ahemedela O/N Camping
Day 08: early in the morning visit the Dallol Depression which is situated below 116 m and the lowest and hottest site in the world then in the afternoon drive to Hawzien where are the Rock hewn churches of Tigrai located. O/N lodge or Hotel,
Day 09: after breakfast, visit the Rock hewn churches of Tigrai, this day is dedicated to do Trekking on the Mountain of Abune Yemata and Mariam Korkor, on which the oldest churches are built. O/N Hotel or Lodge
Day 10: drive to Adigrat, on the way visit the first, 4th C of Ethiopian Orthodox church which is Abreha-Atsbeha and the first 7th C mosque of Muslim which is Al-Negashi O/N Hotel
Day 11: after breakfast drive to Axum the first capital of Queen of Sheba and visit the Monastery of Debre Damo, which is the 6th C Monastery built by Abune Z-Michale and the Ancient Temple of Yeha, 8th C B.C O/N Hotel
Day: 12 after breakfast have a city tour of Axum, O/N Hotel
Day: 13 fly back to Addis Ababa and do shopping then Transfer to Airport after fare
well dinner party. End to the tour.
